As we mentioned in the previous article, the hydraulic clamp is a hydraulic clamping device that converts the hydraulic pressure into a clamping force to secure the workpiece. The hydraulic clamps can be divided into support clamps, leverage clamps, swing clamps, push-pull clamps, etc. due to different operating methods.
This time, we will be introducing one of Clamptek’s major bestselling products that sold thousands of units in a single month: CSP Series Support Clamp.
Support Clamp: Mainly used to support the workpiece. During processing, the piston rod will stop and hold tightly after reaching the supporting position to prevent the workpiece from deforming or moving due to the cutting force. The support clamp can reduce vibration and improve the processing accuracy of the workpiece, and because of its small size, it can be configured and used in a smaller space.
Which types of workpiece require the help of a support clamp during machining?
Thin machining parts
Irregularly shaped workpieces
Workpieces without supporting structure
Workpieces that need to be machined on a flat surface
Workpieces with uneven bottom height
Clamptek Bestselling Hydraulic Support Clamp - CSP Series:
Clamptek has divided the CSP series according to the market orientation into two kinds: CSP-P and CSP-K. To enable customers to have a better choice, the CSP series has similar specifications and is interchangeable with the Japanese brand’s clamps that are currently on the market.
Clamptek has also increased the clamping force between the piston rod and the clamp cover of this series, which can produce a higher supporting force and is more affordable in terms of price and use.
The clamp body of this series is independently produced by Clamptek, and its internal parts are imported from Japan, Taiwan, Germany, and other countries. Clamptek has also invested in top machining centers such as DMG, MAZAK, VICTOR TAICHUNG CNC, and FEELER CNC, dedicated to providing customers with high-precision and high-quality products.
The external diameter of the CSP series support clamp has four sizes: 26, 30, 36, 45 (mm), and the pressure is low-pressure 7MPA.
According to the actuation method, the CSP support clamps are divided into A-type and B-type,
*Spring Rising Type(Type A):
The initial state of the piston rod is up, and the workpiece is placed on the piston rod and dropped to a certain distance due to the weight of the workpiece. At this time, the clamping force of the supplied oil pressure on the clamp cover is applied to the piston rod, so that the piston rod can support the workpiece firmly.
*Hydraulic Pressure Rising Type(Type B):
The initial state of the piston rod is down. When the oil pressure is supplied, the piston rod rises and stops at any position of the workpiece. While stopping, the clamping force of the oil pressure on the clamp cover is applied to the piston rod, so that the piston rod can stably support the workpiece.
Note:
Cutting Fluid Cleaning Countermeasures: To prevent poor operation caused by high-pressure coolant and chip dust intruding into the internal structure, the air can be cleaned in the exhaust hole when the workpiece is replaced. Air cleaning requires a dedicated air pressure circuit (recommended cleaning air pressure at 0.3~0.5MPa).
This series only has low-pressure support clamps. For high-pressure support clamps, please feel free to contact us!
* Our company mainly sells manual toggle clamps, hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. If you have any questions regarding our products, please feel free to contact us!
